This week we were asked to collect a radiator cooling pack for a stone quarry crusher machine.

This crusher itself grades stones into sizes from about 5mm diameter upwards.

The quarry in south lakes Cumbria is one of the busiest quarries responsible for producing stone and aggregate for most of the northwest of England.

M.R.S. were asked to collect the quarry radiator cooling pack, to inspect and thoroughly clean, and test the crusher radiator and the crusher intercooler for leaks and flow. Once tested, minor repairs were made and the units were then de-hydrated and painted , to look nice of course!

As the crusher itself was being treated to a £24000.00 (RECONDITIONED) engine, it was imperative the crusher radiator and intercooler was tested to ensure there was no faults underlying as this would then have been a contributory factor should the engine fail again!

The crusher works 7 days a week and it was important that the down time was kept to an absolute minimum.

TWO DAYS AND SOME 200 MILES LATER THE CRUSHER RADIATOR WAS RETURNED IN GOOD HEALTH!
